Previous Club Dagenham & Redbridge
Christian Doidge began his footballing career in the youth set-ups at both Southampton and Bristol Rovers. However, he failed to earn a Scholarship from Bristol so gave up playing football in 2008 aged 15.
He played basketball for a year at county level as well as representing Wales in the European Championships in Malta.
From 2009-2014, Doidge represented four different teams in the Welsh leagues before signing for Dagenham and Redbridge in 2014.
He joined FGR in the summer of 2016 and was the top-scorer in the club’s promotion winning season, with 27 goals. He finished as the second top goal scorer in the National League and bagged himself a famous goal at Wembley on final day.
Doidge is a classic number 9 and is lethal in the box, scoring all sorts of goals with either foot or his head.
He easily settled back into life in the Football League and scored double figures for the first season back, bagging the League Two player of the month award for November as well as a host of club awards.
