Aaron Collins signed on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.
The 22-year-old became Rovers’ fourth signing of the summer following the end of his contract with fellow League Two side Morecambe.
The former Welsh Under 19 international has over 70 first-team appearances to his name and made an immediate impact at Morecambe following his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring eight goals in 15 appearances.
Collins began his career at Bristol City’s academy before moving to home-town club Newport County where he was initially not offered a scholarship before signing his first professional contract at Rodney Parade.
He made 21 appearances for the Exiles, scoring twice before earning a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2016 as an 18-year-old for an undisclosed fee.
Collins went on loan five times during his spell at Molineux before seeing his contract terminated by mutual consent in January this year and moving to the Globe Arena in February where he played a key role in Morecambe’s climb away from the relegation zone – including a goal and assist in their 3-0 win over FGR back in March.
