Forest Green Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of centre-back Gabe Kircough on a permanent deal from Welsh Premier League side Penybont F.C.

The Welsh defender joins Rovers, having signed for Penybont in the summer of 2023. During his time at the club, Kircough made 86 appearances, scoring ten goals and registering 12 assists from the back line. So far this season, he has made 26 appearances, keeping eight clean sheets and scoring once.

Kircough began his career at Welsh South side Pontardawe, where he progressed through the academy ranks before joining Penybont on a free transfer. During the 2022/23 season, Pontardawe fielded the second-youngest squad in the league based on average age.

He was named in the Welsh Premier League 2024/25 Team of the Season. Although originally deployed in midfield last season, Kircough moved into central defence due to injuries and impressed in his new role.

Kircough will wear the number 25 shirt at Rovers and will be available for selection ahead of our National League fixture away to Sutton United.
