Rovers extended their unbeaten away league record with a 3-1 win over Hartlepool.
Sadou Diallo reclaimed his place in the starting eleven the match, earning his place after impressing in the Papa John's Trophy tie at Walsall last week.
Rovers dominated proceedings from the opening moments of the first-half, and deservedly took the lead through Jordan Moore-Taylor. An in-swinging corner from Ben Stevenson picked out the run to the near post and the centre-back nodded the visitors into the lead.
On the half hour mark, the travelling fans behind the goal were sent into raptures once again. Matty Stevens turned provider when his effort cannoned off the bar into the path of strike partner Jamille Matt to flick the ball beyond Ben Killip in the Pools goal.
Added time was signalled and it appeared that Edwards' side were heading into the interval two goals ahead, but Stevens had other ideas. The striker made space for himself inside the box, before turning quickly to fire his effort into the back of the net off the post.
Hartlepool came out fighting in the second half - and dominated most of the play. They pulled a goal back with ten minutes remaining, when Dom Bernard was adjudged to have fouled a Pools player in the box. Skipper Nicky Featherstone stepped up and coolly slotted the ball beyond Luke McGee.
