Rovers return to League One action this weekend and are back on the road, this time heading to the LNER Stadium to take on Lincoln City.
Head Coach Ian Burchnall and his side will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the league and build on a good performance despite defeat against Ipswich Town last weekend.
Below you’ll find everything you need to know about the Imps ahead of our trip to Lincolnshire.
IN THE DUGOUT: MARK KENNEDY
Former Premier League footballer Mark Kennedy became the new Lincoln Head Coach back in May, taking his second lead managerial role in the EFL.
The 46 year old had a very established playing career turning out for the likes of Millwall, Wimbledon, Manchester City and Liverpool in the late 90’s.
The former Irish international became Britain’s most expensive teenager upon moving to Anfield in 1995.
Kennedy spent the longest stint of his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers before spells with Crystal Palace, Cardiff City and Ipswich Town rounded off a stellar career in English football that ended in 2012.
Upon retirement Kennedy went into coaching and took on a variety of academy roles before taking over at Macclesfield for a short spell in 2020.
Kennedy spent last season as the assistant to former Birmingham City Head Coach Lee Bowyer before he arrived at the LNER Stadium a few months ago.
ONE TO WATCH: ANTHONY SCULLY
Imps starlet Anthony Scully made the move to join Lincoln City back in February 2020.
The 23-year-old spent nine years with West Ham United coming through the youth academy going on to make a number of appearances for their U23’s side.
Scully would leave the Hammers to join Lincoln midway through the 2019/20 season and scored on his first start in a 4-3 defeat to Accrington Stanley.
The Irish youth international was Lincoln’s top scorer in all competitions last term, netting 11 goals in League One as well as providing seven assists.
Scully played the full 90 minutes in the Imps’ opener against Exeter City but missed out against Portsmouth last week due to illness.

PLAYED FOR BOTH SIDES
Former Rovers midfielder Elliot Whitehouse spent two years with Lincoln City, playing a big part in helping the Imps back into the Football League.
In the following season he scored the winner in the club’s memorable victory over Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy final at Wembley before departing for Grimsby Town.
Whitehouse would go on to join FGR in 2020 but unfortunately a large part of his time in Nailsworth was plighted due to injury.
The Sheffield United academy product left GL6 over the summer and signed for National League Scunthorpe United last month.
LAST TIME OUT
Lincoln earned a hard fought point on the road away to Portsmouth drawing 0-0 at Fratton Park last weekend.
It was Pompey who had the better chances in the first half as Michael Jacobs and a Joe Piggott free-kick tested Imps keeper Carl Rushworth, albeit with little danger.
Danny Cowley’s side should’ve been ahead at the break as Reeco Hackett-Fairchild brought Rushworth into action once again before putting the follow up high over the bar.
Lincoln’s best chance of the clash came 10 minutes from time as Adam Jackson rose highest to meet a Max Sanders corner, but he couldn’t quite divert his header on target.
Despite there being a total of 20 efforts on goal in the South, neither team could find the breakthrough and both sides settled for their second draw in as many league matches.
