Forest Green Rovers put five past Frome Town Ladies without reply, as they ran out comfortable winners on Sunday afternoon.
Rovers, under the charge of new Head Coach Chris Hicks, went into their first home game for the season with high spirits, on the back of a good winning performance away at AEK BOCO the previous week.
The home side quickly got into their stride, forcing Frome Ladies on to the back foot as Cerys Jones latched onto a through ball and finished neatly past the on-rushing keeper.
Jones was denied a second just two minutes later, clipping the top of the bar after a cross from Rosie Dimery found the winger.
On 23 minutes, Rovers keeper Rebekah Woods was called into action for the first time, comfortably saving a shot from a distance.
As the half wore on, Frome began to grow into the game, though found a determined FGR backline looking to preserve the advantage going into the break.
Holly Thomas' persistence saw her double FGR's advantage in the 44th minute, as she chased down what looked like a lost ball before tucking home a finish on a tight angle.
It took only three second-half minutes for the hosts to get that vital third goal, Beth Edwards finishing off a great team move.
From here, FGR Women started to really control the tempo, and it was no surprise that Sian Towler added a fourth after 67 minutes.
Captain Ashleigh Watson was then on hand to round off the afternoon, finishing well to give FGR a comprehensive 5-0 win and continue their unbeaten start to the season.
