Sam Russell has become the first inductee at the Ever Green Club; a Forest Green Rovers Hall of Fame which aims to recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of our most successful and memorable players from throughout the club's history.
Now Goalkeeping Coach with FGR Women and FGR U18s, Russell made 200 appearances during his playing days with Rovers, playing every minute of the club's National League play-off winning campaign in 2016-17.
During his first spell with the club, he made an incredible 144 consecutive league appearances.
Russell will be introduced to the crowd at The New Lawn at Saturday's game against Grimsby Town as he officially becomes the first former player to join the Ever Green Club.
The 41-year-old will also be answering questions in the Carol Embrey Suite ahead of this weekend's game. You can book your place in hospitality by visiting Seat Unique, our official hospitality partner.
