Forest Green Rovers are delighted to partner with the #HerGameToo campaign, which aims to raise awareness of sexist abuse within football.
Launched in May 2021, the campaign gained support from across the world – and even saw the #HerGameToo hashtag trending on Twitter in the build-up to the Emirates FA Cup final.
The launch video for the campaign has gained over 1 million views on social media and #HerGameToo have already surveyed nearly 400 female football fans to build a wider picture of the experiences they have faced when attending games.
We’ll be raising awareness on a matchday at The Fully Charged New Lawn by offering in-game messaging on our LED advertising boards as well as spaces for posters inside the stadium, encouraging supporters to report sexist abuse or harassment. Plus, their logo will be emblazoned on the sleeve of our women's team this season.
Caz May, Founder of #HerGameToo, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Forest Green Rovers. They are a club who are community focussed and therefore we have similar values surrounding equality and fan engagement.
“Forest Green Rovers are already a very inclusive club so we look forward collaborating together to see how we can further promote equality in the game - with the aim to build a safer environment for female supporters going forward."
Henry Staelens, CEO of FGR, said: “Football is a game for everyone and we’re looking forward to working with #HerGameToo to build a more inclusive environment for female fans at matches, home and away.”
