The first phase of the unlock from lockdown means the Women's team can return to training.
However, this comes with the disappointment that the FA has decided to cancel the season for the second year in a row, after consultation with the clubs and their ability to continue the league into May/June to play the remaining games.
The FA are conscious that this has been the second season cancelled and are looking to put in place a process for clubs to apply for promotion based on performance and club infrastructure.
Chris Hicks, FGR Women Manager, commented on the team's performance to date: “Given the fantastic form, the team were in the halting of the season came as a big disappointment to the players, the coaches and supporters.
"The young team has continued to grow through the season, putting some excellent performances against some experienced teams in the league. The last game for the team was on the 25th of October where the FGR women completed a season double over Swindon Town Development 3-2 to remain unbeaten.
"The teams last training session was a few days before Christmas, so it is great to be back and train at the innocent New Lawn.
“We very much started the season with the last season’s team. During this year's campaign, we have been able to sign a couple of very good players that have further bolstered the team with youth and experience and have fitted in to the team superbly."
The Women’s Team is looking to establish another team to play in the local Gloucester League and are seeking additional players to join both teams.
Training currently takes place at the innocent New Lawn from 6:30pm-8:00pm on Wednesdays.
Formal open sessions will occur in late June; however, if anyone over the age of 16 is interested in training with the team in the interim, please contact the team at womens.football@fgr.co.uk for further details.
The outlook for the future of the team is positive and exciting.
