Forest Green were forced to settle for a share of the points against Braintree Town on Saturday afternoon in the Enterprise National League.

Rovers rallied in the second half but found Town 'keeper Mason Terry in inspired form for the hosts.

Rovers crafted the first half-chance after Kairo Mitchell sent a dangerous low cross but just out of the reach of Yahya Bamba.

Braintree then had a flurry of chances, Fletcher Hubbard's corner headed just wide of the far post but Tommy Smith following some play by the hosts.

Lewis Walker then should've given Braintree the lead after John Akinde's header into his path, but he fired over the crossbar.

Rovers came close to taking the lead through Laurent Mendy after Kyle McAllister's deep cross was met by the midfielder, but Terry beat the ball to safety.

Sahid Kamara tested Luke McNicholas with a low drive but Rovers' shot-stopper was down smartly to parry around the post.

After the break, Akinde struck a volley just wide after some smart forward play to hold off Ryan Inniss but McNicholas saw it past the post.

McAllister tested the palms of Terry from just outside the area as Rovers began to press for a winner.

Substitute Harry Whitwell impressed when coming into the game, he found Mitchell but Terry was quick to smother the effort.

Mendy went close with another headed effort, this time from a McAllister corner but it landed on the roof of the net.

Rovers pressed but couldn't force a late winner with a couple of penalty appeals waved away in the closing stages.
