Forest Green played out a goalless draw with Boston United at the Jakeman's Community Stadium on Wednesday night.

Rovers pressed throughout but had goalkeeper Luke McNicholas to thank in the late stages to preserve the point that kept us unbeaten.

It was an even quarter of an hour to begin the match with neither goalkeeper called into serious action - Yahya Bamba skipped to the byline but his cross was cleared behind in the best opening.

Kairo Mitchell had Rovers' best chance of the half, he was released in behind but he struck his effort low past the far post.

Boston's number eight, Dylan Hill, was lively in the opening 45 - he crossed low for Owen Hampson but the latter failed to connect running towards the near post.

Half-time: Boston United 0-0 Forest Green

Rovers started brightly after the break, Knowles delivered a deep cross for Inniss who nodded wide whilst Mitchell produced a low cross just out of the reach of Laurent Mendy.

The ball broke loose for Kyle McAllister just before the hour mark, he took a touch and drove an effort towards the bottom corner but Boston 'keeper Rhys Lovett was down smartly to save.

Tre Pemberton's cross was glanced just wide of the upright as Rovers pressed for a late winner.

Doidge then teed up fellow substitute Nick Haughton but he shot off target from the edge of the penalty area.

Boston skipper Zak Mills almost won it late on for the hosts but Rovers shot-stopper McNicholas preserved the clean sheet as Rovers took a point.
