Forest Green Rovers got back-to-back wins in the Enterprise National after overcoming a spirited Aldershot Town comeback in the second-half.
Rovers made a fast start and went ahead through Kyle McAllister after good work from Jayden Clarke, before Clarke added a second to give the visitors a 2–0 half-time lead rounding off a strong team move.
McAllister struck again early in the second half to make it three. Aldershot hit back with quick goals from Ciaran Gilligan and Kwame Thomas to set up a tense finish.
Rovers held their nerve in the closing stages to secure a deserved 3–2 victory and all three points on the road.
First-Half
Rovers saw plenty of the ball in the opening ten minutes, with Jili Buyabu earning an early corner in the third minute. Buyabu soon found himself in the referee’s book, which led to Ryan Jones testing Harry Isted’s gloves; however, the Rovers debutant was equal to the effort.
It was Kyle McAllister who broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute after Jayden Clarke won the ball on the left-hand side and found McAllister unmarked in the box, allowing him to calmly slot the ball into the bottom corner.
McAllister was at the heart of the action again just four minutes later, when his thunderous effort smashed off the crossbar in the 27th minute.
Rovers’ lead was doubled in the 37th minute, with Jayden Clarke finding the net after a fantastic team move from Rovers.
Rovers nearly had a third in the first minute of added time, as Clarke once again found himself in a great position; however, his effort narrowly missed the post.

Second-Half
The second half began much as the first had ended, with Rovers on top. McAllister again found space on the right-hand side, delivering a ball for Aidan Dausch, who just mistimed his effort.
Laurent Mendy struck the post after a headed knockdown from captain Ryan Inniss in the 49th minute.
Aldershot began to see more of the ball in the 56th minute after making three substitutions at half-time. Rovers weathered the storm, however, for the time being.
The game was thought to be put to bed in the 60th minute when Laurent Mendy rolled the ball to Kyle McAllister, who grabbed his second and Rovers’ third of the afternoon.
Isted was called into action only three minutes later, after Cam Hargreaves tested the Rovers keeper from the edge of the box.
In the 68th minute, Ciaran Gilligan pulled one back for the Shots to make it 3–1. Just three minutes later, Kwame Thomas headed home for the Shots to make it 3–2.
Rovers managed to compose themselves after the 75th minute and saw out the game to secure all three points on the road.
