A look at 'The Lambs'
Forest Green Rovers will be looking to make it consecutive National League victories as they travel to The Lamb Ground to take on Tamworth tomorrow night.
Robbie Savage’s side were convincing winners on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Wealdstone 2-0 at The New Lawn.
Neil Kengni opened his account in Rovers colours, and Gabe Kircough’s header in the second half secured all three points.
Ahead of Wednesday night’s clash, here is everything you need to know about our opponents.
Nickname: ‘The Lambs’
League Position: 12th
Tamworth have had a solid National League campaign, currently sitting 12th in the table with seven games remaining. The Lambs are on a poor run of form, having lost four of their last five league games. However, their only win in that run was at home to third-place Carlisle United, and the Staffordshire-based side has won their last three fixtures at The Lamb Ground.
The two sides met back in November, where Rovers came away with all three points in a six-goal thriller. Despite an early red card for Tamworth, they opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Manny Duku. However, Kyle McAllister's converted penalty, a Temi Babalola brace and a Nick Haughton strike turned the game on its head, with Joe Rye scoring a late consolation for the visitors. Rovers will be hoping for a similar result tomorrow night!
Andy Peaks is the current man in the dugout for Tamworth.
Peaks was appointed as The Lambs Manager back in 2022, after leaving Rushden and Diamonds to join the Midlands side.
The club has seen an incredible rise under Peaks’ leadership, achieving successive promotions in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons to see the club reach the National League.
The 54-year-old signed a new contract midway through last season, and it was announced that he would be managing the club on a full-time basis.
Peaks will be hoping his side can continue their fine run of home form tomorrow night.

Oliver Lynch has had an impressive campaign for the Lambs since joining the club from Luton Town on loan at the start of the season.
Lynch has made 48 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 14 goals in the process.
Nine of these have come in the National League, including three goals in his last two games.
He grabbed both goals in the 2-1 win over Carlisle United, with the Lambs coming from a goal behind.
A player who is in a fine run of form, Rovers will need to be aware of the forward in and around the penalty area.
