Rovers return to the Fully Charged New Lawn, following back-to-back away fixtures as they host Salford City this Saturday, October 23rd.
Rob Edwards’ side will be looking to return to winning ways after a hard-fought encounter against Kenny Jackett’s Leyton Orient side on Tuesday night, resulting in a 1-1 draw at The Breyer Group Stadium.
The visitors will be hopeful that they can build on a goalless draw against Rochdale and start to climb the league table, currently sitting in 15th place.
“Salford are aggressive, they press high and we have to be ready for that; it will be an intense game. They’ve got a good team with very good individuals. I think their performances have probably merited more points than they’ve got at the moment," said Rob Edwards.
“It should be a good game to watch. We want to try and win every game, especially our home games in front of our fans who have been brilliant this year – we want to give them something to shout about.
“We will need to start with a real intensity and try to play our game, Salford are going to try and stop us, but we’ll need to nullify that.”
Dan Sweeney is a doubt for Saturday’s fixture, after the 27-year-old was ruled out of the 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient due to a knee injury sustained against Carlisle United.
Elliott Whitehouse remains on the sidelines, having yet to appear for Rovers this season.
The visitors have no fresh injury concerns, and Gary Bowyer is expected to have a full squad to select from ahead of their trip to Nailsworth on Saturday.
