Forest Green Rovers travel to the Kingfield Stadium on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 10 games.
In their nine games so far, Rovers have picked up an impressive 21 points with six wins and three draws.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash, here is everything you need to know about our opponents.
The Opposition - Woking
Nickname - ‘The Cards’
League Position: 18th
Woking have had a mixed start to their National League campaign, picking up just eight points from their nine league games so far. After suffering defeats in their opening four fixtures, the Cards then went unbeaten in their next four games (two wins and two draws) before a 1-0 defeat at Yeovil last time out.
It is their seventh season back in the division after being promoted from the National League South in 2019. Their best league finish since their return came in the 2022/23 campaign, which saw the club finish 4th and would lose out in the Play-Off Quarter Finals. After two bottom half finishes since then, the Cards will be looking to climb back up the table this year.
In The Dugout - Neil Ardley
Former AFC Wimbledon Manager Neil Ardley is the man at the helm for Woking.
During his six years as Dons boss, Ardley’s side achieved promotion to League One via a Play Off Final victory over Plymouth Argyle.
Since his departure in 2018, he has also had spells at Notts County, Solihull Moors and York City before joining Woking.
Ardley was appointed back in December 2024, after the club parted ways with Michael Doyle with the Cards sat in 19th at the time.
The 53-year-old would guide the club to a 15th-placed finish - six points clear of the dreaded relegation zone.
With the 2025/26 campaign being his first full season in charge, Ardley will be looking to kick on this year.
Player To Watch - Harry Beautyman
Midfielder Harry Beautyman joined the Surrey side at the start of last season, after spending six-and-a-half years at former club Sutton United.
In the 2024/25 campaign, Beautyman scored 10 goals and created three in 35 league games as the club finished in 15th place.
So far this season, the 33-year-old has scored one goal in the club’s nine games, which came from the penalty spot in a 1-1 draw at FC Halifax.
In his last three seasons as a National League player, Beautyman has reached double digits for goals.
Having had experience in the Football League with Sutton, Rovers will need to be aware of the quality the midfielder has on the ball.
Head-To-Head:
Last season’s fixtures saw the two sides draw 1-1 on both occasions. Rovers will be looking to leave Surrey this time around with all three points and continue their fine start to the season.
