National League leaders Forest Green Rovers will be looking to maintain their 100% home record tomorrow afternoon as they host Scunthorpe United at The New Lawn.

In their four home league games this season, Rovers have scored eight goals and have kept an impressive four clean sheets.

Ahead of tomorrow’s fixture, here is everything you need to know about our opposition.

The Opposition- Scunthorpe United

Nickname: ‘The Iron’

League Position: 6th

Scunthorpe United have started their National League campaign in impressive style, picking up 14 points from their opening six league games. It is their first season back at the level after achieving promotion from the National League North last year via the play offs.

The Iron will be hoping the game reaches its conclusion on Saturday afternoon as their last two National League fixtures against Eastleigh and Wealdstone were both abandoned. Like Rovers, Scunthorpe are another team that are currently holding an unbeaten record in the league.

In The Dugout: Andy Butler

Iron legend Andy Butler is the current man in the dugout for Scunthorpe United.

During his playing career, Butler made 152 appearances for the club across two spells, scoring 15 goals.

The 41-year-old was appointed in May 2024, promoted from his previous role as First Team Coach.

During his first season in charge, Butler and his side earned promotion back into the National League after a Play Off Final victory over Chester.

Having achieved promotions with the club now as a player and manager, Butler will be looking to have further success this campaign.

Player To Watch: Danny Whitehall

Forward Danny Whitehall has made an impressive start to this season’s National League for Scunthorpe United.

The 29-year-old has found the back of the net five times and assisted two goals in just four league games.

The forward joined the club in the Summer of 2023, after rejecting a new contract with Eastleigh.

Whitehall played a pivotal role in the Iron’s promotion back into the National League last season, scoring 18 goals in 31 appearances.

A tall, strong striker who is in a fine run of form, Rovers will need to be aware of Whitehall’s attacking qualities.
