Forest Green Rovers are back on the road tomorrow afternoon as they travel to The Shay Stadium to take on FC Halifax Town.
Rovers have made an impressive start to their National League campaign, picking up seven points from their opening three games and scoring eight goals.
Ahead of tomorrow’s fixture, here is everything you need to know about our opposition.
The Opposition- FC Halifax Town
Nickname: ‘The Shaymen’
League Position: 18th
FC Halifax Town have had a mixed start to their season, picking up three points from their opening three league games. They suffered defeats at Braintree Town and Wealdstone before picking up their first points of the season in a 1-0 win at Boston United on Tuesday night.
The Shaymen finished 6th in last season’s National League and were defeated by eventual Play Off winners Oldham Athletic 4-0 in the quarter finals. Looking to break the trend this season, the club have gone out at that stage four times in the last six seasons.
In The Dugout - Adam Lakeland
Former Kings Lynn boss Adam Lakeland is the current man at the helm at FC Halifax.
Lakeland joined the club this summer after former Manager Chris Millington stepped down from the role at the end of last season.
The 40-year-old guided Kings Lynn to a mid-table finish after joining the club at the end of September 2023 and reached the National League North Play Offs in his first full campaign in charge.
Player To Watch - Josh Hmami
Midfielder Josh Hmami followed Manager Adam Lakeland from Kings Lynn to Halifax Town this Summer.
Hmami played a pivotal role in his former side reaching the National League North Play Offs last season, scoring four goals and providing nine assists.
He has already got his name on the scoresheet this campaign, grabbing the only goal in their 1-0 win at Boston.
An influential midfielder, Rovers will have to be aware of the on-the-ball quality the 25-year-old possesses.
Head-To-Head:
Rovers picked up just a point against tomorrow’s opponents last season, but after the start they have made under new Manager Robbie Savage will go into the game full of confidence hoping to claim all three.
