Forest Green Rovers return to league action after their 4-3 loss to League One Luton Town in the FA Cup first round.
Rovers will be looking to make it back-to-back league wins in the early kick-off down in Hampshire.
Robbie Savage’s side is bolstered by key players Kyle McAllister and Abraham Kanu, who both returned from injury against Luton, where McAllister got on the scoresheet.
Ahead of Saturday’s encounter, here is everything you need to know about our opponents.
The Opposition: Aldershot Town
Nickname: The Shots
League Position: 20th
Aldershot have struggled recently and are without a league win since their 1-0 home victory over Hartlepool United on the 20th September. As a result, they currently sit on 13 points and one place outside the relegation zone. They currently have the third-worst defensive record in the league, having conceded 36 goals in their opening 17 games. However, the Shots have had no problems in front of the goal, netting 29 times, putting them amongst the top scorers in the National League this season.
In the Dugout: John Coleman
John Coleman will be managing the Shots from the touchline.
Appointed on the 24th of October this year, he has only taken charge of two games this season, a 2-1 loss in extra time to Weston-Super-Mare in the FA Cup and a 1-0 defeat away to Boreham Wood.
He brings nearly 30 years of managerial experience, including with football league sides Accrington Stanley and Gillingham.
Coleman will be looking to get his first three points as manager of the Shots on Saturday.
Player To Watch: Kwame Thomas
Kwame Thomas is the highest goalscorer in the National League for Aldershot so far this season.
The striker has four goals and two assists from his 11 starts in the League this season.
He also seems to be Coleman’s preference to lead the line for the Shots, having started both games under the new boss.
Thomas has had stints in the football league, most recently with Sutton United in the 2022/23 season.
