Preview | Aldershot (H)

March 6th 2026Jasper Hudson

Forest Green Rovers will be hoping to secure back-to-back wins following their 2-0 win away to Gateshead last time out.

Rovers will look to build on the clean sheet they picked up on their travels and hope to nullify the attacking threat Aldershot have posed in recent weeks.

Robbie Savage will not be in the dugout this weekend but will be wanting the same result as last time against Aldershot when he was also in the stands.

The Opposition: Aldershot Town

Nickname: The Shots

League Position: 13th

Aldershot have steadied the ship following Tommy Widdrington’s resignation in October.

And 2026 has seen a new lease of life, winning six of their last seven before top of the league Rochdale ended that impressive run last time out.

Despite this positive run, they have struggled for clean sheets, only keeping one since the turn of the year.

Their strong form is no doubt thanks to their goalscoring ability, finding the back of the net an impressive 19 times in their seven-game unbeaten run.

Paragraph Break

In the Dugout: John Coleman

John Coleman will be in the dugout for the Shots, taking charge against Robbie Savage’s Rovers for the second time this season.

Aldershot and Coleman face FGR on much better terms than when they were defeated 3-2 at the EBB Stadium on only his second game in charge back at the start of November.

He brings plenty of experience at this level, having won promotion with Accrington Stanley, and has shown that with Aldershot having a strong uptake in form since his arrival in Hampshire.

Coleman will be looking to get his side back on track this Saturday at The New Lawn following their defeat to Rochdale last time out, and continue their excellent start in 2026.

Player To Watch: Charlie Warren

League One loanee Charlie Warren arrived in Aldershot from Bolton on a season-long loan at the end of December.

The 22-year-old forward has excelled already in his short time in Hampshire, scoring six times in his first nine games.

He arrived with experience of first-team football, playing in the Isthmian North before his move to Bolton.

Warren has no doubt been a huge contributor to Aldershot’s strong form, scoring a late equaliser against Tamworth to keep the Shots unbeaten run going.

Head-To-Head:

Forest Green will be looking to extend their unbeaten run against the Shots.
