Next in the spotlight in our player profile series is one of our new players Ellie Briscoe.
She scored her first goal for the club in the FA Cup victory on the weekend and now she talks getting into football, the Lionesses and her love for gaming.

Ellie Briscoe, nickname Briscoe, 24, any position preferably attacking
How did you get into football and where did your football journey begin?
I first got into football watching my brother play for our local football team
Who was your footballing idol growing up?
Alex Scott and Wayne Rooney
Have you played for any other clubs before FGR Women?
I’ve played for plenty of teams, most recently for Larkhall Athletic
How would you describe yourself as a player?
Passionate and hardworking
Thoughts on the Lionesses success in the summer and its impact on yourself and the FGR Women?
It’s amazing to see the support the Lionesses are receiving, proving to women and girls everywhere they belong in this sport. I have seen an impact on the amount of people especially children that want to come and watch women’s football more local to them
How great is it to see the women’s game growing year on year in England?
It’s amazing and it’s important that it continues to happen. The more accessibility girls have to football the better the game will improve at all levels

Which do you prefer, a Home or Away day and why?
I love a home game, familiar surroundings, great fans, amazing atmosphere
Favourite part of a matchday?
Getting ready before the game, from getting in kit to warming up, the buzzing atmosphere and the unknown of what will happen
Goal or last-ditch tackle?
Obviously Goal, scoring a winning goal is an amazing feeling
You have to spend a day on a desert island with one of your teammates, who would it be?
Probably Amy as she is very knowledgeable and will solve any problems we have, which means I can chill
What are your hobbies outside of football?
Gaming, I have nearly every console made and right now I’m really into warzone
What are your aspirations and goals for this season?
I want to help win the league and gain promotion with the rest of the FGR team
Give one piece of advice to the young FGR Women supporters?
Always see the positive in all situations because every day is a blessing.
