Rovers travel to North Wales

April 12th 2024Sam Yapp

Rovers are on the road again as we travel to the Racecourse Ground for the first time since 2016 for our League Two clash with Wrexham on Saturday.

It was a performance to proud of for Rovers in the reverse fixture as we drew 1-1 at The New Lawn back in February.

Ahead of our trip to Wales, here is everything Rovers fans need to about our opposition from the dugout to players to watch.

IN THE DUGOUT - PHIL PARKINSON

Parkinson marked 150 games as Wrexham manager with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Crawley Town on Tuesday night.

The 56-year-old has created a well-run machine at Wrexham as he looks to guide his side to back-to-back promotions with a win on Saturday enough to gain automatic promotion if results elsewhere go their way.

PLAYER TO WATCH - PAUL MULLIN

With a wealth of talent in the Wrexham roster it’s hard to choose just one standout player but down to his impact on the club and his goal scoring instinct - it's tough not to recognise Paul Mullin.

21 League Two goals with the addition of seven assists has seen the striker reach 100 goals for the club and stands as the clubs top scorer this season.

And when you talk about players in form, there is not many better than the 29-year-old who has six goals in his last five matches.

JANUARY BUISNESS -

It was a quiet window for Parkinson’s side with just three players through the door. Goalkeeper Luke McNicholas was first joining from Irish side Sligo Rovers.

Deadline Day saw Salford City full-back, Luke Bolton and Fleetwood Town striker, Jack Marriott brought through the Racecourse doors.

To add to the new incomings Wrexham secured the services of Mullins and Elliot Lee sign new long-term deals.
