For one last time this season Rovers are in action looking to end the 2023-24 League Two campaign on a positive note against Notts County.
It was a thriller the last time we met as the Magpies came out on top in a 4-3 defeat for Rovers at Meadow Lane back in September.
We welcome our visitors to The New Lawn for the first time since 2019 so here is everything fans need to know from the dugout to players to watch.
IN THE DUGOUT - STUART MAYNARD
The Magpies suffered a blow losing ex-manager Luke Williams to Championship side Swansea City and took a gamble with their appointment in Maynard.
He was snapped up from National League outfit Wealdstone in his first managerial job that lasted for almost three years.
It hasn’t been plain sailing in his first EFL job picking up just five wins in his first 18 matches but has steadied the ship in recent times losing only once in his five matches.
PLAYER(S) TO WATCH - MACAULAY LANGSTAFF & JODI JONES
It is hard to choose between the pair of Langstaff and Jones as they are both set to finish the League Two season as the league’s top scorer and top assister.
Langstaff is in pole position to take home the golden boot in his first-ever EFL season having bagged 28 goals, four ahead of Wrexham’s Paul Mullin and Salford City’s Matt Smith.
And the striker is in fine form netting in all of his last four matches which highlights why he was included in the League Two Team of the Season alongside teammate Jones.
Jones was voted as League Two’s Player of the Season largely down to his delivery rate for teammates picking up 24 assists, double that of Mansfield Town’s Stephen Quinn in second.
JANUARY BUISNESS -
January was a hectic month for the Magpies who not only had to strengthen their squad but had to deal with a managerial change when Williams was replaced by Maynard.
Five new players walked through the Meadow Lane doors as Scott Robertson joined from Fleetwood (free), Luca Ashby-Hammond arrived from Fulham (loan) and Jaden Warner came in from Norwich City (loan).
Charlie Colkett was added on loan from Crewe Alexandra after international clearance and visa approval, whilst Gambian forward Alassana Jatta joined from Danish side, Viborg.
