Forest Green Rovers Ladies conceded five without reply in Cornwall against Callington Town Ladies on Sunday.
The home team started well and never really looked back as they went 2-0 up before the half-time interval.
Callington extended their lead mere minutes after the break before grabbing a quick double in the last five minutes of play.
It was quite a composed and even start to the match but the first goal changed the complexion of the game.
On 13 minutes Callington's Adele Brown turned sharply on the edge of the area before firing a left-footed shot past goalkeeper Beca Woods' left-hand-side.
Rovers tried to work their way back into the game but a second goal for the hosts halted this progress. Amy Hemingway, a dangerous right winger for Callington, was released by an excellent ball in behind the Forest Green defence before slotting the ball nicely in the bottom left corner.
Neither team was able to push on for the rest of the half, with just a couple of half-chances from each side going astray.
Callington began the second half in a very strong manner, grabbing their third in the 47th minute. Midfielder Lucy Jones wasn't closed down by a defender and unleashed an unstoppable outside-of-the-foot strike from 20 yards out which dipped in over Woods.
Throughout the rest of the second period it was clear that Callington were happy to conserve their three-goal lead as FGR found it difficult to create anything of note.
The away team pushed forward and forced a number of corners but did so without fruition before the home team increased their lead twice in the last five minutes.
Jones was involved again when Callington added to their advantage with four minutes to go. She fired a cross-come-shot into the area before seeing the ball ricochet into the near post off of the unfortunate goalkeeper Woods.
Two minutes later the goalscoring was complete when Jodie Smith turned the ball home with her left foot after a bit of a scramble in the penalty area.
The ladies' next match is away against Downend Flyers women on Sunday, October 21, at 2pm.
