Last month, Forest Green Rovers hosted an Under 13s Girls Cup as part of their involvement with the EFL Trust, a tournament which is part of a national competition run by each of the 72 Football League clubs.

Kathrine Lady Berkeley’s (KLB) School edged victory on the day, while Archway School came a close second in a well-fought contest.

KLB will now represent FGR in the Area Finals, an event hosted by Bristol Rovers at the start of January, before which time they will receive a training session with an FGR Community coach to get them ready to play for a place in the next round.

The KLB team will also be attending Rovers’ upcoming home fixture against Scunthorpe United on Saturday, December 7, where they will receive their certificates and full zebra-striped playing kit.

If successful at the Area Finals, the team will progress to the Regional Tournament hosted by Swindon Town in February, and victory there will see them qualify for the Grand Final at Wembley Stadium prior to the Leasing.com Trophy Final on Sunday, April 5.
