Forest Green Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of Jay Mingi from Stockport County on loan until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old right back began his career in the academy at West Ham United, where he made 26 appearances for the Hammers’ Under-18s before moving to Charlton Athletic in July 2021. The right-sided player spent a short period with the Addicks before making the switch to Portsmouth in September 2021.

It was at Fratton Park that Jay began to establish himself in senior football, going on to make 29 appearances for the south coast side. During that period, he also enjoyed a loan spell with Maidenhead United in the National League for the 2021/22 campaign.

Jay then headed to Essex, joining Colchester United for the 2023/24 season, where he clocked up 25 appearances in all competitions. He was subsequently snapped up by Sky Bet League One side Stockport County, making 15 appearances in all competitions during the 2024/25 season for the Hatters.

Mingi joined Crewe Alexandra for the early part of the current campaign, making 9 appearances before heading to GL6 to complete the season on loan with Rovers.

Jay will be available for tomorrow's fixture away to Scunthorpe United and will wear the number 19 shirt for Forest Green Rovers.
