Sutton Utd 1-2 Forest Green
Forest Green Rovers took all three points in their visit to the VBS Community Stadium in a 2-1 win over Sutton United.
Charlie McCann, the hero on Monday against Altrincham, scored an 89th-minute winner again after Kyle McAllister did exceptionally on the right touchline to keep the ball in play before crossing it perfectly, allowing McCann to calmly touch it and unleash a strike past Steve Arnold.
Rovers took the lead earlier in the game as Christian Doidge scored on the half-hour mark with a magnificent, powerful header from a long throw-in produced by Ben Tozer.
Doidge’s goal brings his personal tally to five in six games making him the joint-top goalscorer in the Vanarama National League.
Jemery Sivi looked to have rescued a point for the home side in the 86th minute of the game with a breakaway effort after being laid off on the edge of the box.
Rovers defended well through large parts of the game, nullifying the talented Sutton attack and despite their late efforts, Rovers held onto a crucial win.
