Forest Green Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge shared the points in a 1-1 draw at The New Lawn on Wednesday thanks to a late Ryan Inniss header.

Steve Cotterill made three changes from Saturday’s FA Trophy triumph seeing Liam Sercombe, Kyle McAllister and Inniss all in from the start.

And it was Sercombe and McAllister who linked up on two minutes to almost get Rovers ahead, but McAllister saw his driven effort well stopped by Daggers’ goalkeeper, Elliot Justham.

Rovers had a flurry of chances midway through the half when Joe Quigley saw a headed effort go just wide on 21 minutes before Tom Knowles drove on goal but had his effort blocked by Justham two minutes later.

The next goalscoring chance came ion 65 minutes when Jamie Robson pulled back a cross to Harvey Bunker on the edge of the area, but his effort flew just over the bar.

Robson then saw an effort tipped over the bar on 72 minutes after some great link up play with Knowles before Sercombe had a low driven effort dealt with by the Daggers ‘keeper moments later.

The visitors rallied late on and had a close ranged effort brilliantly blocked by Jordan Moore-Taylor before Jed Ward was called into action with smart stop low to his right on 81 minutes.

In the last minute of normal time the Daggers stole the lead a through Josh Rees first time strike which looked to have all but ended Rovers impressive league unbeaten run.

Rovers threw everything at the Daggers in added time and in the 95th minute, Inniss rose highest to head home a McAllister cross to earn Rovers a deserved point whilst extending our league unbeaten run to 14 matches.

Rovers have a rare weekend off now but are back in action next Tuesday when we welcome fellow promotion-chasers Barnet, to The New Lawn.
