Forest Green Rovers played out a frustrating 1-1 draw with Aldershot Town at The New Lawn on Saturday but extended their league unbeaten run to 11 games.
Steve Cotterill named two changes to his side that beat Boston United last weekend as Teddy Jenks and Harry Cardwell starting ahead of Tom Knowles and Christian Doidge.
Rovers opened the first period quickly almost taking the lead on 14 minutes when Jenks drove into the area but fired his effort just over the bar.
Six minutes later, Cardwell was denied by a fantastic stop from Shots goalkeeper, Marcus Dewhurst, before the 'keeper denied Charlie McCann’s follow-up header.
Cardwell went close again on 35 minutes but was denied low by Dewhurst after Kyle McAllister had perfectly flicked the striker through.
But it was the visitors who took the lead moments before half time through a heavily-deflected Ryan Jones effort.
Rovers wanted a response in the second half and a response they gave as substitute Knowles teed up McCann who swept home from close range just 20 seconds into the second period.
The Shots started to grow and on 61 minutes forced Jed Ward into a close range stop through James Henry before Jamie Robson made an outstanding block seconds later.
Rovers almost turned the game around on 75 minutes when Sean Long picked out Knowles at the back post, but Dewhurst was there again to deny the effort.
And Knowles had the last chance of the game for Rovers on 84 minutes, cutting inside before sending a low driven effort goal bound but Dewhurst was down well to stop it and leave both teams settling for a point.
Rovers are back in action on Boxing Day when we travel to Tamworth for our next National League fixture.
