Match Preview: Tranmere Rovers (A)

The key information ahead of clash in Birkenhead

November 10th 2023FGR Media

Rovers head to Prenton Park this weekend to take on Tranmere Rovers. Here's all of the key information ahead of the clash on the Wirral.

WHAT DAVID SAID

"It'll be a really tough game. They've had a few injuries but have a couple back now. Now Nigel Adkins has been confirmed permanently, they've probably got a bit of stability.

Gaffer

"They lost 4-3 at the weekend (at Stevenage in the FA Cup) and were unlucky from what I understand. It's a big game, a tough game but we'll have a group on Saturday that can win the game as long as they perform to their maximum."

TEAM NEWS

David Horseman confirmed during the week that he and the coaching team are currently dealing with up to 12 injuries.

We'll start with the positive news - and that's that Darnell Johnson trained towards the backend of this week following a few weeks out with a groin issue.

Goalkeeper Luke Daniels is out for a further three weeks with a quad issue, while Jordon Garrick is nursing a similar injury and will be sidelined for the next two weeks.

Marcel Lavinier and Matty Taylor have both pulled their hamstrings, with the duo set to be out for five weeks and six weeks respectively. Reece Brown is now around halfway through his time on the treatment table - with the midfielder set to be out for another four weeks with his hamstring problem.

Ryan Inniss will be out for three weeks due to a shin injury, Callum Morton's ankle injury will keep him out for five weeks, while Matty Stevens is having a knee operation, with six weeks his estimated timeline.

Nathan Holland picked up an injury in Tuesday's draw with Brighton U21s - and is awaiting results from a scan.
