Forest Green Rovers will be looking to respond from Tuesday night’s draw in Kent as we welcome Woking to The New Lawn in the National League.

Saturday sees the Cards visit Nailsworth for the first time since 2017 when an enthralling seven-goal thriller took place seeing Rovers come away 4-3 winners.

A 10-man Rovers settled for a point in our recent meeting back in October with a Kyle McAllister strike just before half time securing us the draw.

Ahead of the Cards visit, here is everything Rovers fans need to know about our opponents.

THE OPPOSITION – WOKING

The Cards have spent the season battling around the bottom half of the table but have picked some impressive form when needed.

Heading into this games they are unbeaten in their last three games with wins over Dagenham & Redbridge and Solihull Moors whilst also holding Tamworth for a point.

And it’s just one defeat in their last 12 games in all competitions with the Surrey side sitting 16th in the National League whilst also reaching the quarter-final of the FA Trophy.

IN THE DUGOUT – NEAL ARDLEY

Their recent turn in fortune could be down to their new manager, Neal Ardley, who took the helm back in December replacing Michael Doyle.

The 52-year-old has suffered just one defeat as Cards manager which came against his previous employers, York City.

Ardley boasts an impressive coaching CV having recently been the manager of York, Solihull Moors, Notts County and AFC Wimbledon where he earned promotion to League One.

PLAYER TO WATCH – JUNIOR MORIAS

Another reason for the turnaround could be the loan signing of Junior Morias from Notts County.

Morias had spent the first half of the season on loan at Dagenham making 19 league appearances whilst scoring six goals.

Since his arrival at the Laithwaite Stadium less than a month ago, Morias has been a handful for teams scoring his first two goals for the club against his former side Dagenham.
