Forest Green Rovers take on National League South side Weston-Super-Mare in the FA Trophy at The New Lawn tomorrow afternoon.
Rovers are on another impressive unbeaten run with their last defeat back on Halloween at Luton in the FA Cup.
Ahead of tomorrow’s clash, here is everything you need to know about our opponents.
Nickname: ‘The Seagulls’
League Position: 4th
Weston-Super-Mare have had an impressive league campaign so far this season, currently sitting fourth in the National League South table.
They are just three points off top spot, with two games in hand on league leaders Hornchurch in another league where the table is tight at the summit.
The club finished eighth last season, just a place and four points off a play-off spot after having a strong campaign.
They reached this stage of the competition after seeing off Chippenham Town 1-0 away from home in Round Two.
The Seagulls also impressed in another cup competition this season, reaching the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s 138-year history.
They defeated fellow NLS side Chelmsford on the road to set up a third-round tie away to League Two’s Grimsby Town.
Scott Rogers is the current man in the dugout for Weston-Super-Mare.
Rogers was appointed as Manager at the start of October after former boss Scott Bartlett left the club to join National League side Eastleigh.
The 46-year-old had been Bartlett’s assistant since joining the club in July 2023 and opted to stay with the Seagulls.
Rogers has had previous managerial experience at both Tiverton Town and Willand Rovers in the Southern and Western League, respectively.
During his playing career, he enjoyed a short spell with Rovers, alongside also featuring for Newport County, Bath and even Weston-Super-Mare.
Rogers will be hoping to get one over on his former employers when he brings his side to The New Lawn tomorrow.
Forward Louis Britton has had a superb campaign so far this season for the Seagulls.
The 24-year-old joined the club from Bristol
Manor Farm last season and has made a major impact during his time so far.
In their 19 league games, the striker had found the back of the net eleven times.
He’s also grabbed two goals in their FA Cup run, a brace in last week’s victory at Chelmsford.
A player in great form, Rovers will need to be wary of the striker in and around the box.
