To round the festive period, Forest Green Rovers travel to The Lamb Ground for the first time since 2014 for our National League Boxing Day fixture against Tamworth.
Rovers came away victorious in our last trip to the Lambs winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Yan Klukowski and James Norwood.
Ahead of our trip to Staffordshire, here is everything Rovers fans need to know about our opponents.
OPPONENTS - TAMWORTH
Andy Peaks side earned back-to-back promotions winning the Southern League Premier Central in 2023 before lifting the National League North last season with a staggering 96 points.
The Lambs have truly enjoyed their return to the National League for the first time in a decade defying many odds occupying 14th in the league currently after suffering just two defeats in their last six league games.
But away from the league, the Lambs have defied even more odds during an impressive FA Cup run which sees them into the third round for the first time since 2012.
A fourth qualifying round win over Macclesfield led to back-to-back cup upsets against League One sides Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion which has set up a meeting with Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur at The Lamb Ground.
IN THE DUGOUT - ANDY PEAKS
Peaks was appointed by the Lambs back in February 2022 and has known nothing but success in his, almost, three-year tenure.
The 54-year-old guided his side to the Southern League Premier Central title in his first season before instantly seeing his side win the National League North last season.
Fast forward to this season and, after having to postpone his holiday, has overseen his sides incredible FA Cup run this campaign.
PLAYER TO WATCH - TOM TONKS
He isn’t a prolific goal scorer, nor a regular play-maker but Tom Tonks does possess a now well-known weapon that can be the difference for the Lambs.
The 33-year-old has a lethal long throw which was shown to the world as it drew the only goal of game in their FA Cup win over Huddersfield.
Tonks does have just the one goal to his name this season but if it’s a contender for goal of the season as he found the net from 30-yards out wide in the dying embers of their 1-0 win over Braintree Town.
