Sunday sees a top of the table clash in the South West Regional Women’s Premier Division as Forest Green Rovers Women travel to Marine Academy Plymouth Ladies.
Back-to-back wins for Rovers away at Frampton Rangers and St Austell has seen them remain second place in the table, with an Erin Williams hat-trick the main highlight from last Sunday’s victory.
Opponents MAP lead the league table on 39 points and have only lost once all season, which was in the reverse fixture between Sunday’s teams. Forest Green sit 10 points behind with two games in hand making the trip to Devon an important one for the league.
Mark Walker, Gary Hammon and an U18 assistant will be the official’s team for the match in Devon.
“Momentum is building, it’s weird because you get to this point in the season and we’re still continuing to get better and better so our last few games that we have will be really interesting matches.”
“We’ve got girls which are part of college programmes, university programmes, players that have full time jobs so the preparation and management of that is really important.”
The last time the two sides met was on the 29th September 2024 where Rovers were able to defeat MAP 1-0. The goal came just on the half hour mark from Irene Aguado.
