Bees travel to The New Lawn on Tuesday evening

January 13th 2025FGR Media

It’s 2nd vs 3rd at The New Lawn as Forest Green Rovers welcome Barnet in the National League for our fourth straight home fixture.

Barnet (3rd) last visited The New Lawn back in 2017 for an exciting 2-2 draw in what was Rovers' first ever game in the Football League.

In our last meeting with the Bees right back at the start of the season, Rovers fell to a late 1-0 defeat after a Zak Brunt strike.

Ahead of our clash with the Bees, here is everything Rovers fans need to know about our opposition.

THE OPPOSITION - BARNET

The Bees have enjoyed a successful season so far spending the majority of time around the top of the table and currently sit third, just one point behind second placed Rovers and leaders York City.

Despite a run of three straight draws in the league, they are enjoying a 10-match unbeaten run in league with their last defeat coming back in October at the hands of York.

Goals have been no issue for them as they sit as the league’s top scorers on 51 goals so far this season but have recently lost their top scorer, Nicke Kabamba, who joined League Two’s, Bromley, after firing 11 goals this season for the Bees.

IN THE DUGOUT - DEAN BRENNAN

Dean Brennan has been with the club since 2021 starting as their Director of Football before taking over as caretaker manager in the September of 2021.

After a successful caretaker spell, the Irishman took on the role full time in 2022 and has since guided the Bees to back-to-back play-off campaigns.

PLAYER TO WATCH - RYAN GLOVER

The Bees may have lost Kabamba, but goal contributions have been fairly shared out throughout the team, no more so than with winger, Ryan Glover.

The 24-year-old has recorded six goals and eight assists in all competitions this season including four goals in his last six games, after signing from Aldershot Town in the summer.
