For the first game of 2026 at The New Lawn, we welcome Halifax Town on what will be a chilly Saturday 3pm kick-off.
This is the return fixture following our match back in August where goals from Bamba and Mitchell sealed a 2-1 win.
League position: 8th
Nickname: ‘The Shaymen’
Halifax Town are currently sitting just outside the play-off places following a hugely positive December, taking 10 out of a possible 12 points.
After heading to Tamworth on Tuesday and winning 2-0, and beating Altrincham on Boxing Day, they’ll be looking to start the New Year in the same way they finished 2025.
Adam Lakeland joined The Shaymen in June of last year following successful spells at Kings Lynn, Curzon Ashton and Blackburn Rovers Women.
Lakeland is an experienced manager and his team are performing well for him, with goals being provided all over the pitch.
Their current form will no doubt see a manager with an air of confidence about him as he heads to The New Lawn this Saturday.
Having signed at the beginning of the season on a free transfer, attacking midfielder Josh Hmami’s recent form is something to be admired.
Hmami has either scored or assisted in the last 6 games and has a total of 9 goals and 4 assists in total this season.
Rovers will need to keep a close eye on the Halifax number 8 following his recent form and ensure he can’t have the same impact at The New Lawn.
