Match Preview: Grimsby Town (H)

Team news, tickets, travel and more!

November 17th 2023FGR Media

Following Tuesday night's emphatic 5-2 FA Cup win over Scarborough Athletic, it is back to League Two action as Forest Green Rovers take on Grimsby Town at The New Lawn.

David Horseman will be looking to carry this winning momentum into the league following defeat away to Tranmere Rovers last time out.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, here is everything Rovers fans need to know on team news, tickets, parking and how to follow the action.

 WHAT WE SAID

“They [Grimsby] are actually a really strong team and, a little like ourselves when you look at their underlying numbers, have performed really well,” David Horseman said.

“They have some pretty talented players, and we know it will be a tough game because talent doesn’t reflect their position in the league.

“We’ll be a slightly different looking team but one with different skills set and, if we get it right, one who can cause them problems.”

WHAT THEY SAID

“We go there and the main thing is we are looking to put a performance on again and a level of performance that gives us a great opportunity to win the game,” Grimsby joint-caretaker manger, Shaun Pearson, said.

“We’re not 100% sure what they will come with, having played a few different styles, so it will be interesting to see how they set up.”

TEAM NEWS

Dom Bernard will be available for selection having served his one-match suspension on Tuesday night. Troy Deeney is suspended this weekend after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Tranmere.
