Forest Green Rovers return to The New Lawn tomorrow evening to take on Boston United in the National League.

Rovers picked up a deserved point on Saturday at Meadow Park as they drew 1-1 with fellow play-off hopefuls Boreham Wood.

Kyle McAllister’s 11th goal of the campaign drew Rovers level mid-way through the second half to ensure Robbie Savage’s side did not leave Hertfordshire empty-handed.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s clash, here is everything you need to know about our opponents.

The Opposition: Boston United

Nickname: ‘The Pilgrims’

League Position: 11th

Boston United have had a solid campaign to date, currently sitting 11th in the National League table. They made a strong start to the season, picking up wins against Aldershot and Wealdstone in the opening month.

A less impressive September followed before a resurgent October saw the club climb towards mid-table. One win in two months saw them drop down into the relegation zone, with the Pilgrims failing to see out games. That slump ended at the end of January when the club defeated Boreham Wood on the road, sparking a superb run of form.

Boston would then pick up three points over Sutton and Gateshead at home before winning a nine-goal thriller at Scunthorpe 6-3. A credible point at home to Tamworth on Saturday made it six games unbeaten for the Pilgrims, who will be looking to extend that run tonight.

The two sides met back at the start of October, where the points were shared on the night after a 0-0 draw. A closely fought encounter with chances at both ends, but two strong keeping performances denied both teams from breaking the deadlock.

Paragraph Break

 The Manager: Paul Hurst

Paul Hurst is the current man in the dugout for Boston United. Hurst was appointed mid-way through January, after the club parted company with former manager Graham Coughlan.

He enjoyed a successful first spell in charge back in 2009, helping the club gain promotion to the Northern Premier before leaving to join Grimsby in 2011.

Since his appointment, the club have been on a tremendous run of form.

After a defeat in his opening game back in charge of The Pilgrims, his side has then gone six games unbeaten, winning four on the spin in that time.

The 51-year-old will be hoping that his side can continue their unbeaten run and continue to move clear of the drop zone.

Player To Watch: Tom Cursons

Tom Cursons is a player who, like Boston, is in great form. Cursons joined the club at the end of January from League Two side Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has grabbed five goals in the first five games for the Pilgrims, including an impressive hat-trick away at Scunthorpe United.

He scored the winner in both victories over Sutton and Gateshead, highlighting that he is a player at the top of his game.

A striker who has adapted brilliantly since his move, Rovers will need to remain aware of the forward in and around the box.
