Mabete Signs

Forest Green Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of centre-back Filozofe Mabete from Swindon Town on a six-month-loan.

The 21-year-old right-footed centre-back becomes our tenth signing of the summer ahead of this weekend’s National League opener against Halifax Town.

Mabete joined Swindon in June 2025 from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the defender impressing at The Dingles, making 114 appearances between 2021 and 2025 across Wolves’ U18S, U21S and U23S.

After joining Swindon in the summer, the DR Congo youth international made 33 appearances for the Robins during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring two goals. Mabete has also started every game for Swindon during this pre-season.

Manager Robbie Savage had this to say about the signing of Mabete:

“He’s a brilliant signing, and played really well against us last weekend. It’s a great signing for the club and so many attributes. Thank you to Ian (Holloway) at Swindon who let us have him.

We are in a far better position at this time compared to last season.”
