A well-rounded performance in the midfield and, of course, his winning goal has earned Liam Sercombe a spot in the Vanarama National League Team of the Week.
Sercombe helped Rovers remain top of the National League on Saturday, heading home the only goal in our victory over Rochdale following a routine Ben Tozer long throw.
The 34-year-old netted his fourth league goal of the season (fifth in all competitions) having made 20 league appearances for Rovers so far.
This is Sercombe’s second appearance in the National League’s Team of the Week with his first induction coming after our 4-0 win over Boston United, where the midfielder netted twice including one from the halfway line.
As Rovers’ excellent season continues, our Team of the Week tally checks in at 19 appearances with Charlie McCann (4), Jed Ward (3), Ryan Inniss (2), Christian Doidge (2) and Sercombe (2) appearing the most.
Kyle McAllister, Ben Tozer, Adam May, Jamie Robson, Harvey Bunker and Joe Quigley all have one appearance to their names.
Congratulations Liam, thoroughly deserved!
