To celebrate and mark our very own Harvey Bunker’s 21st birthday we take a look back at our versatile man’s career so far.

From playing central midfield to centre-back Bunker has become one of the regular members of the Rovers squad so let’s take a look at where it all began.

A GIFT FROM THE SAINTS

Born in Portsmouth in 2003, Bunker spent the beginning of his youth career 22 miles up the coast at rivals Southampton.

Bunker was a part of the Saints until unfortunately being released which saw him snapped up by Rovers at the age of 16 where he was integrated into our Academy.

And after less than a year with the Academy, Bunker was awarded his first professional contact with the club in 2020.

CHANCE TO DEVELOP

With the contract signed, it was time for Bunker to go out and gain some first-team experience starting with a month stint at Chippenham Town in 2021.

He made 12 appearances while at Hardenhuish Park scoring twice in an away trip to Eastbourne Borough.

Next up on his loan tour was Weymouth where he again spent a month in Dorset making six appearances for the Terras in 2022.

His final loan destination was to North Lincolnshire in 2023 where his time at Scunthorpe United lasted just 36 days as he was recalled by Rovers after a stint of impressive performances.

ONE OF OUR OWN

Following his recall from Scunthorpe, Bunker became one of the more regular starters for Rovers making 20 appearances during our time in League One.

That run of regular starts has carried over into our return to League Two which has seen him currently feature on 40 occassions, his best return for a season so far.

His rise from Academy to first-team has also seen the versatile midfielder find the net twice and notch up 78 appearances for the club, the second most appearances made by a player aged 21 or under in the clubs history.
