Forest Green Rovers are delighted to unveil Isaac Hutchinson as the club’s latest signing from Derby County.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder makes the move to the innocent New Lawn on loan until the end of the season after impressing for the Rams’ Under-23s side during this campaign.
Hutchinson joined Derby after four years with Southend United which saw him make 40 first-team appearances in total during their League One spell, scoring two goals.
Born on the south coast in Eastbourne, the midfielder progressed through the youth ranks at Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion before heading to the Shrimpers in 2016.
Those eager eyed football fans amongst the FGR fan-base would’ve spotted Hutchinson playing for Derby County this weekend in their FA Cup encounter with Chorley and the youngster also captained the side.
After completing the move, Isaac said: “I’m really excited. As soon as I heard of the opportunity to join the club, I was buzzing to get the move done.
I’ve heard about the great football that the team play – and the way the club is going. I want to be a part of it.
“I spoke to the Head Coach and loved everything that he had to say. In the Under-23s league, you don’t get to play week in, week out – so I am really excited to start playing regularly.”
Rich Hughes, Director of Football, added: "Isaac has some great experience playing regular League One football - and he is truly a modern day number eight. He has the ability to drive forward and take the lead on attacks.
"It's always difficult to fill the void left by a player like Carl Winchester, but we are excited to see what Isaac can bring to the side."
Hutchinson will wear the number seven shirt vacated by Carl Winchester's departure and there is availability for player kit sponsorship by contacting partnerships@fgr.co.uk.
