Forest Green Women's captain Hattie Jones was pleased with the way her side controlled the game in their 6-1 win over Frampton Rangers on Sunday.
Jones was on the scoresheet as Rovers claimed their first three points of the season, following last weekend's disappointment at Bishops Lydeard.
Nalani Hunt and Georgie-Marie Barbour-Gresham both bagged a brace each - while Rhian Robbins was also on the scoresheet as Joe Manns picked up his first victory as Head of Women's Football.
“It’s a good three points on a hot day - and the pitch worked in our favour," said Jones post-match.
“We had a few players missing today but we all pulled together and it shows that we can dominate and score goals when we need to.
“We started strongly and we controlled the game. Last week was a bit scrappy and a bit messy, but this week we showed up and showed everybody what we can do.
Rovers will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins as they make the trip to Dorset on Sunday to take on Sherborne Town. However, next weekend's hosts have started the campaign strongly, as one of two clubs with a 100% record so far, beating both Pucklechurch and Bishops Lydeard - so the Rovers skipper is aware of the challenge that awaits.
“Sherborne are a very strong team," said Jones. "Last year we had a couple of really close games against them. We need to make sure we show up and hopefully get three points on a pitch that might be more difficult than this one.”
