Rovers end a run of three away games in a row as they travel north to take on Salford City in League Two action.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Ammies ahead of our trip to the Peninsula Stadium.
Salford City appointed Gary Bowyer as Head Coach last May after a brief spell as Interim Manager at the back end of last season.
The Ammies Head Coach had a short playing career with the likes Hereford United, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United before sadly having to retire at the age of 25 due to injury.
Manchester-born Bowyer ventured into the world of coaching shortly after his retirement with youth coaching roles at the likes of Derby County and Blackburn Rovers.
In December 2012 the 50-year-old was appointed as Caretaker Manager at Blackburn where he had two spells before taking the permanent role in 2013 where he stayed until November 2015.
After spells with Blackpool, Bradford City and most recently a return to Derby with their U23s, Bowyer made his way to Salford.
The former FGR man left Newport County to sign a two-year deal with Salford City at the start of this season.
Liam Shepherd began his professional career at Swansea City but failed to make his mark playing the majority of his football on loan with Yeovil Town.
Over three successful spells with the Glovers, Shepherd made 72 appearances during his time at Huish Park scoring one goal.
In July 2017, after four years on the books at Swansea, the 26-year-old signed for Peterborough United before moving to Nailsworth a year later.
After his spell with Rovers and a year with Newport that ended in a play-off final defeat, Shephard signed for the Ammies after a career played predominantly in the South.
The defender by trade has played in a more advanced position at times this season and has notched two assists as well as netting twice in his last two games.

Salford City made it back to back league victories against promotion chasing Swindon Town running out 2-1 winners at the County Ground.
After a first half with very little action it was Swindon who took the lead 10 minutes after the break, as Harry McKirdy headed home from a Joe Tomlinson corner.
But that lead only lasted nine minutes as former FGR man Liam Shephard met an Ashley Hunter cross to bring the Ammies back on levelterms.
And as the game looked to be heading for a draw, Ryan Watson headed home from close range to snatch the three points with four minutes left on the clock.
The win extended Gary Bowyer’s sides’ unbeaten league run to four games as they now sit 11th in the table, six points from the play-off places.
Rovers come from a goal down to beat Salford City 3-1 at The Fully Charged New Lawn back in October.
The away side took their lead inside the opening 10 minutes as Brandon Thomas-Asante did well to bring the ball down before firing past Luke McGee.
And the Ammies managed to hold off until one of the last actions of the first half as Nicky Cadden’s sublime free kick brought Rob Edwards’ side back on level terms.
Into the second 45 and it took 25 minutes for Rovers to get themselves in front, another brilliant individual goal as Kane Wilson beat five Salford defenders before finishing emphatically.
Jack Aitchison ensured the win in added time as he fired home from the edge of the box to get Rovers back to winning ways on home turf.
The victory extended Rovers unbeaten league run to three games ahead of an away trip to Bradford City the following weekend.
Rovers and Salford have only faced each other five times which have all been played in the EFL after the Ammies’ promotion to League Two in 2019.
The record between the two is currently tied as both sides have two wins apiece as well as one stalemate draw in September 2020.
FGR head to Peninsula Stadium having never lost in Greater Manchester after an impressive 4-0 win in the sides’ first meeting followed by the 0-0 draw mentioned above.
