Forest Green Rovers FC is pleased to announce the installation of an Emergency Anaphylaxis Kit from Kitt Medical, following our qualification as a business with occupational health.

When someone is living with a known allergy or is unaware that they have one, there is always the potential that:

• An AAI ( anaphylaxis auto-injector ) may have been forgotten

• It could have expired, or

• In some cases, it's not available at all +

At Forest Green Rovers, we have had real experience of some of these scenarios on a matchday, all of which are potentially life-threatening. So the Club has taken proactive steps to address this by installing an accessible Emergency Anaphylaxis Kit in our main reception, as recommended by club doctor, Alistair Smith. We recognise that there is a serious risk posed by severe allergies in the workplace, and we see the provision of this equipment as a key step in strengthening our emergency preparedness and a commitment to colleague and supporter wellbeing.

All FGR staff have undertaken training to use the auto injectors, helping to make FGR a safer and more inclusive workplace.

Since its launch, 1,500 Kits have been installed in over 1,000 schools and businesses across the UK, and more than 25,000 staff members have received training. Most importantly, the Kits have proven invaluable in critical situations; they have been used on 18 separate occasions to treat life-threatening allergic reactions.

Anaphylaxis is a severe and often sudden allergic reaction that can be life-threatening within minutes. Prompt administration of adrenaline can be lifesaving. It's important to note that anyone can develop an allergy at any time in their life. In the UK, 20% of anaphylaxis cases in schools occur in children who were previously unaware of their allergies.
