New Fan Advisory Board launched

We are pleased to give supporters an update on the new Fan Advisory Board (FAB), which is now in place.

The club has held regular meetings with the FGR Supporters Club (FGRSC) over the last few seasons, and to align with the evolving landscape of fan engagement across football, we made the decision in December to rebrand and upgrade this into a formal FAB.

The FAB's aim is to strengthen the relationship between the club and its supporters and ensure the club provides a strong and sustainable model of governance, to consult with fan representatives on a wide range of strategic topics whilst constantly striving to improve the matchday experience for all supporters.

The new FAB is made up of 5 members: 2 representatives from the club and 3 from the FGRSC. There are two additional spaces available for this season, open to any supporters who wish to join.

For subsequent seasons, there will be a more structured process of selecting and electing members of the FAB, working in partnership with the FGRSC and alongside a new Fan Elected Director (details on this will be published shortly).

Phil Butterworth from the FGR Supporters Club said: "Fan engagement through regular meetings has helped turn words into actions at FGR. A range of topics are discussed, submitted by the club and supporters.

A lot has been achieved, but an even stronger and more productive relationship can evolve with this more formalised ‘FAB’ and better representation from all fans.

Club CEO Dane Vince added:

“We have held regular meetings with the Supporters Club for several years now, and they have been a crucial communication channel between the club and supporters, discussing topics including operations, ticketing, parking, disabled facilities, alongside specific supporter feedback, comments and ideas.

We have made good progress so far but are mindful that there is still a sizable list of improvements, changes and new initiatives that we want to deliver for 26/27 and beyond.

When do the FAB meet?

There are 9-10 FAB meetings per season, with meetings held typically on a Friday at 11 am for 1-1.5hrs, with flexibility around holidays and fixtures.

What is the FAB's scope?

The FAB will retain a focus on topics including the club's strategic vision and objectives, business operations, the stadium, key matchday issues, any relevant heritage items, club fan engagements, collaborative review and creation of our Fan Engagement Plan and the club's equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) commitments. Sporting and on-field issues will not form part of proposals.
