FGR community would like to say a big thank you to all our young ambassadors, Alumni, and our senior ambassadors for all the work they have done this season helping to spread the word of what we do as a community and a club.
The awards will be presented by representatives from Grundon - who are our amazing community partner who makes the ambassador programme possible. Our ambassador awards are split into three categories: Primary School ambassador of the year, Secondary School ambassador of the year, and William Fletcher Award.
Primary School ambassador of the year winner:
Rose Cogley – Rose has participated in many events at FGR. Performing all different roles. Working in the shop, ball retriever, reading the team sheet. She has won awards at school. Voted vice house captain at school. Gave a talk to the whole school about being an ambassador for FGR and received the sponsorship kit for the school provided by FGR from Tom.
Primary School Runners-up:
George Williams – George raised awareness about the environment and animal welfare by giving a talk in front of the whole school. He then walked 10km with his rescue dog across difficult terrain in bad weather to raise awareness of the benefits of adopting a rescue dog. He encouraged several of his friends to try vegatarian food and has convinced some of them to give up meat entirely. He has encouraged several of his friends to attend FGR games for the first time and advertises FGR’s green devils’ newsletter at school.
Walt Bailey - Walt has helped at every single match, start of season helped in many roles including team sheet reading, VIP meet and greet, mascot helper, shop assistant. Over the last few months he has been ball retriever. He has put together a notice board at school which I keep changing! He has joined in lots of FGR activities, including soccer camps, ambassador trips and FGR cookalongs.
Secondary School ambassador of the year winner:
Andrew Jones – Andrew has been ever present at FGR all season. He has taken part in many of the ambassador match day roles, he has also been very heavily involved in the ball retrievers all season and always happy to help others when it is their first time. We have seen a massive increase in confidence in Andrew in his first year of secondary school.
Secondary school Runners up:
Brooke Ridgley – Brooke was an Ambassador for Field Court Junior School in years 5 and 6, Brooke moved to secondary school in September. Severn Vale School had never had an FGR Ambassador before. As an Ambassador, Brooke has embraced several matchday roles this season. Brooke regularly distributes the Green Devil newsletter in school, Brooke was very lucky to represent the FGR Women's team this season and was a mascot for their FA Cup game at The New Lawn against Bristol Rovers.
Hugo James - Hugo has created a notice board his school, submitted many newsletter articles for the school newsletter, distributed the green devil newsletter at school and in local area, attended most home matches, brought his football team to the New lawn for a match.
William Fletcher winner:
Teddy Webster – Teddy has been asset to our ambassador team and has grown massively. He hosted Ryan Inniss at his school the Shrubberies, plays football every week with Allsorts, attends every Saturday home game in his ambassador kit, attended over 10+ away games, regularly does ambassador roles.
Green Devil Editors - We would like to say a massive thank you to our wonderful green devil magazine editors. The hard work and commitment from these have helped to get the fantastic content they created into over 60 schools across the country. Thank you, Molly, Walt, and Henry, for all your hard work this season.
Final message
A big thank you to Grundon for making all of this possible. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and passion this season. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.
