FGR Community are proud of our amazing ambassadors and our newly formed Ambassador Alumni.
Unique to our footballing community and Club, they promote the values and ethos as well as telling their friends, families and neighbours about the fantastic football and family friendly environment at The Fully Charged New Lawn.
Each year, we recruit a team of young ambassadors to spread the word about what it’s like supporting FGR and all the great things we do on and off the pitch.
Being an ambassador is an exciting role, and a great way to get involved with the club.
Starting with just five primary school-aged boys, our programme has expanded to where the youngest Ambassador is 6 and the oldest 22 years of age, with an almost equal split of boys and girls.
We now have students representing approximately 60 different primary, secondary and higher education establishments, including students from special education schools and colleges.
This season we have just under 100 ambassadors, our greatest number yet, mostly from Gloucestershire and the surrounding area predominantly with the exception of two super ambassadors from as far as Cheshire and Yorkshire.
As well as matchday volunteering, our ambassadors and Alumni bring their schools, friends and family to matches and organise special events such as boot swaps, beach cleans, litter picks, assemblies and player visits. They also distribute our phenomenal Green Devil Magazine.
Our Alumni have recently been involved in a £10 fundraising challenge with some tremendous results.
If you or your school would like to be involved in the Ambassador scheme or find out more about being an ambassador (if you are based in Gloucestershire first please check with your school to see if ambassadors have been appointed this season) please contact community@fgr.co.uk to find out about more.
