Charlie McCann named in Team of Midweek

After his mesmerising performance during our 2-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, Charlie McCann has been included in the National League’s Team of Midweek.

McCann struck low from 18-yards sealing another important three points for Rovers as we jumped to second closing the gap on top spot to four points, with a game in hand.

It’s been an individually brilliant season so far McCann who netted his eighth goal of the season on Tuesday night, extending a personal best scoring season.

Our midfield maestro has also had an excellent week picking up back-to-back player of the match awards during our defeat at Oxford City in the FA Trophy and Tuesday night’s win in East London.

This appearances marks McCann’s fifth inclusion in the National League’s Team of the Week, the most of any Rovers player.

Jed Ward picked up three appearances during his time with Rovers whilst Christian Doidge (2), Liam Sercombe (2) and Ryan Inniss (2) are among the front runners.

Kyle McAllister, Ben Tozer, Adam May, Jamie Robson, Harvey Bunker and Joe Quigley all have a solo appearances each taking Rovers overall total to 20 inclusions during our excellent season so far.
