Rovers defender Baily Cargill praised the FGR supporters following the Derby Day victory over Cheltenham Town.
Cargill captained the side as Myles Peart-Harris' headed goal secured a 1-0 victory as Rovers claimed the bragging rights.
The 27-year-old played a huge part in the victory - helping Rovers to a first clean sheet in League One since early October.
"From start to finish we were all at it," said Cargill.
"We all knew the game plan - and that was to be on the front foot. We had the best of the first-half and I think we had the best of the second-half until we scored - and then we were defending our lead."
Cargill was delighted for the FGR supporters who cheered the team on to victory. It was the biggest crowd of the season at The Bolt New Lawn - and it was the best atmosphere too, with the South Stand bouncing for the whole of the 90 minutes.
"It's great for the fans," he said.
"I'm really pleased for them. They out-sang their fans all game. It's what these games are all about.
"You always want to win, but derby ones are always a bit bigger. We could hear them on the pitch - and the more they sing, the more it helps us, it really does."
It's now just one defeat in seven games in all competitions for Rovers, who recorded back-to-back league victories for the first time this season.
"We're starting to build some momentum. We're still missing a couple of lads, but a lot of lads are back in training which is making it more competitive.
"The gaffer, Doyler (Michael Doyle) and Turns (Ben Turner) are driving us in training all week - and that's showing out on the pitch."
