Forest Green Rovers' fixture at Barrow this afternoon was called off in the 14th minute due to a waterlogged pitch. The referee conducted a lengthy pitch inspection at 2:15 pm and deemed the pitch playable for both sets of playing staff.
We understand how frustrating this is for the travelling FGR fans who made the long journey in treacherous conditions to watch the fixture.
We would like to send our appreciation to the Barrow grounds staff who worked relentlessly to try and get the game on.
Barrow took the lead in the opening 10 seconds of the match through Isaac Marriott. Fourteen minutes later, the referee deemed the pitch unplayable after a Barrow backpass stood up on the pitch, allowing Sean Etaluku to run through and fire a shot over the bar.
A new date for the rearranged fixture, with ticketing information, will be released in due course.
